Ordination,
Election and Commissioning of Southeast District
Pastors

Lay and clergy delegates attending the North Alabama
Annual Conference, June 4-6,2009, had an exciting
time. The worship services were inspiring.
Particularly moving were the occasions of
recognition of God's call upon the lives of pastors
and other specialized ministers.

On Friday morning, June 5th at the Clergy
Executive Session, Reverend Mike Densmore was among
those elected into membership as Associate Member.
Mike is the newly appointed pastor of Duncan
Memorial UMC and is Assistant to the Southeast
District superintendent.
On Friday night Bishop William H. Willimon ordained
eleven new United Methodist elders including
Reverend Bridget Elaine Dowdy. Bridget is pastor of

the Southeast District.

Reflecting
on her call, Dowdy says “In 1987 I answered
God’s call as a lay person to serve Christ
in Ministry with the youth of my local
church. During this time of service God
graciously opened the door to many
opportunities for spiritual growth,
discovery and exploration, enabling me to
hear and recognize his call to fulltime
ordained ministry. . . .
All the time! God is good!”[1] |
