Monday, June 29, 2009 Vacation Bible School

Written July 1, 2009

Filled with the spirit and inspired by the worship of the previous day, the team began serving at two ministry areas. One team went to the construction site while the other team went to church to host vacation Bible school (VBS) for the children in the community.

Assisted by translators Margarita and Pamela, the team communicated the love of Jesus in teaching. The Bible story this year is the story of God’s relationship with Noah as found in Genesis chapters six to eight.

About ninety children experienced a time of Bible storytelling, crafts, singing and meal. Of course the team did not do it alone. They worked together with the local believers as they ministered.

At the conclusion of the day, both groups return to the hotel for dinner and devotion. The theme of the devotion this year is Listening to Jesus.

Word for Monday:

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing."
John 15:5
